Some of the waterfront homes in Punta Gorda Isles are powerboat homes, meaning that a boater must negotiate at least one bridge before arriving at open water. The remainder of homes in Punta Gorda Isles are built around the beautiful St. Andrews South Golf Course.

Waterfront homes in Punta Gorda Isles are situated on wide canals. All canals in Punta Gorda Isles have concrete seawalls to protect the canal and make it easy to build a dock for a powerboat or sailboat. Punta Gorda Isles is unique in that all seawalls are maintained by the City of Punta Gorda. This takes an enormous burden from the homeowner as the responsibility and cost of seawall maintenance is spread over many property owners and amortized over time. It also helps maintain property value in Punta Gorda Isles. An owner never has to worry that a neighbor will neglect his or her seawall, thus affecting the value of surrounding properties.

Waterfront property in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida is a wonderful value. There are also many waterfront condominiums and town homes in Punta Gorda Isles. Waterfront condos in Punta Gorda Isle are in the areas of Marion Avenue, Bal Harbor Blvd or Aqui Esta. A waterfront condo on Marion Avenue in Punta Gorda Isles that has dockage for boats, will have rather fast access to Charlotte Harbor. Waterfront condos on Bal Harbor or Aqui Esta will have to travel along a canal for about 1/2 hour to gain access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.

There are also beautiful townhouses with sailboat access to Charlotte Harbor. Sailboat access meant that there are no bridges to interfere with a tall mast. Clipper Cove Village is a waterfront condominium / townhouse community in Punta Gorda Isles with deeded dock space for boats and sailboats. Most of the townhouses in Clipper Cove are three bedroom units with comfortable lanais that overlook the gulf access canals. Sit on your screened in lanai porch, sipping an evening refreshment while you admire your vessel… or better yet… climb aboard and explore beautiful Charlotte Harbor, stop for dinner at Harpoon Harry’s in Fisherman’s Village or just drop anchor and watch the sunset.
